It's frustrating how little people value compromise these days. Throughout American history, legislative compromise has been the norm. Republicans have figured out that by igniting infighting among Democrats, they can easily win elections – a classic "divide and conquer" strategy.

TLDR but I’ve seen many urbanist get sucked into the “public transit is dangerous” narrative. We collectively need to combat car brains with the facts that public transit at its current standing is already overwhelmingly safer than driving.
