Farage should never be interviewed without being forced to answer for failures of Brexit. That the man whose lies fuelled Brexit vote which has cost UK Billions & who said Liz Truss budget was “best Tory budget since 1986” could be trusted on *anything* is mind-boggling #bbclaura

Brilliant piece by Jonathan Freedland - European leaders have to call out Trump, not continue dancing around him, hoping for scraps. Mark Carney showed how to do it yesterday.

The US is no longer a friend or ally.

Tell people the truth.
And act accordingly. 👏

Dear Prime Minister: in light of Trump’s disgraceful bullying of Zelensky today, can you please, please, please cancel the State Visit? A boor like Trump does NOT deserve to be honored by the British state.
Dear Prime Minister, during your visit to the US today, please, please, please, please do NOT invite DJT for yet another State Visit to the UK, or try to woo him with honorary Knighthood.

I know everything feels grim right now but let's be realistic. These people are idiots. They're going to tank their economy. They're going to fuck-up every deal they sign. They're going to leave America looking shattered and deranged. And all those who supported them will look as idiotic as they are

MAGA is really a collection of cowards and incels isn’t it? They bully migrants and trans people, but whenever a vicious tyrant like Putin comes along, they get down on their knees and fawn.

When people ask what Putin has over Trump, remember the Spycraft acronym MICE which describe the four key weaknesses which allow someone open to be being recruited

M - Money
I - Ideology
C - compromising material (Kompromat)
E - Ego

All four are probably factors in Trump’s subservience to Putin

I’m conflicted on this. Id usually be first to say “Fuck Farmers, they voted Brexit” also “Fuck Farmers, pay tax like rest of us have too” and to some extent both are valid opinions. But all of this can be mostly solved by TAXING THE FUCKING RICH and also TAXING EXCESS PROFITS OF BIG CORPS. So..

Elon Musk says USAid “needs to die.”

But slashing US foreign aid isn’t just cruel— it’s more than that: It's a health security disaster. And the void left by USAid's departure is a gift for China in the battle for soft power.

By Prof Natasha Lindstaedt
USAid shutdown isn’t just a humanitarian issue – it’s a threat to American interests
Donald Trump’s administration started work to shrink USAid’s workforce and align its spending with the government’s priorities
