Such a pity there are no tenants in the building. Sad to see the shutters down. Hopefully, they get a few takers for the office space and a cafe downstairs for the walkers

2/2 The gateway was saved and re-erected a little further along the road. A stark reminder of a swathe of destruction that swept through the East End in the early 80's.

It's stunning. The custodian met a gruesome end in the civil war. In the opposite direction, Warkworth.
The keep is totally intact with all the internal layout. Fascinating place

In the foreground is 'dead car wood'. A car was burnt out there around ten years ago, it's still there with wider debris field. The farmer doesn't want to damage his haymaking rig so has left it. It's quickly sprung up into a little woodland.
