Vast in the Dark could be a good option - although I've only skimmed it, but it's by Charles Ferguson-Avery so it's bound to be good . This looks like a decent collection as well itch.io/c/5713799/de...

The Trudvang setting is great and Paul Bonner's art really brings it to life. I'd say it's Norse setting with a bit of Celtic influence, feels very mythic. This is from the original GM book .

IMHO it's fantastic setting looking for the right system.

It's been a great week for RPG deliveries. First Tales of Argosa, then Dolmenwood and now this Yoon-Suin. The first edition was great, and from what I can tell this is mostly the same but in a badass hardback book. I loved running Yoon-Suin and will revisit it at some point

GamesQuest have been busy, I received this today

You wait years for a Kickstarter to be delivered, it's scheduled today when I expect to be out...

On the plus side this arrived yesterday. I've resisted Tales of Argosa for a while and reading it now, I'm glad I've taken the plunge. Could this be my OSR go to? Planning to run Ave Nox with it.

That was a great game Paul, rich in Lone Wolfish atmosphere. The character sheets in particular were a work of layout brilliance!

I love a good urban investigation and his one delivered. Also great to play Sanction, I must give it another read!

Returned from a few days in the Lake District yesterday. Such a beautiful part of the country and relaxing for a few days. But... everything is so expensive and little is free. Parking is costly, 60p to use the toilets! It's ok for dogs to pee on trees, but not humans, go figure...

I've been enjoying some Savage Worlds with @orlanth.bsky.social, a bit of Rifts and Dark Future. Never ran it though, never thought of it as my kind of game. But the Fantasy Companion looks really good. I'd like to hear of experiences with it, is it good for the grim and dangerous fantasy I enjoy.

I reckon the area available to customers was about this much, it was boardgames and family games upstairs, so you had to go down into the basement for RPGs, miniatures and some wargames. The basement had a rather distinct odour, but that was part of its charm. I later learned there was more to it...

@potatocubed.bsky.social is a demon at turning around a kickstarter. The Crucible PDF arrived today with amazing art by @fl3shdog.bsky.social, looking forward to giving this a read. Check out this amazing art (and if you're looking for an illustrator I know Izzy is looking for her next project).

Even macOS does it! I try not to let it bother me, but it's so annoying.

And let's not get started on how schedule should be pronounced in the UK...

Some people get games with swords in them for their birthday, I got an actual sword. It's from a movie of the book, any guesses what the sword is?

Happy with this arrival from lulu.com, the print and binding quality is great. If you're after these book in POD I'd recommend lulu over Amazon or DTRPG.

Every now and then I like to make a list of my games and prioritise them, it helps get organised and focus on the games I'm most interested in & identify other games/books that I could use.

Here's my latest attempt using Miro, it doesn't have every single book, but certainly the ones that matter.

After the Magic of Middle-Earth exhibition I visited my parents and my dad had dug out his dad's WW2 medals. Sadly my grandad died when I was 4 so I never got to ask him about any of these. TBH I don't know that I've seen them before.

I had no idea the Beatles came close to creating a Lord of the Rings concept album...

I'll defo be visiting the exhibition again before it finishes at the end of September.
