Well, I'm a nerd, autistic, and have been around long enough to remember when the Autism Society was called NSAC, hence the name. 🤷‍♂️ Diagnosed long before it was cool.
And if you want to make assertions based on Transgender Map, which is a source I've seen in the past to be as reliable as the Daily Mail, then expect me to take your claims with a boulder of salt.

I have other things to do right now.

Anyway, why don't you just read what Azeen Ghorayshi wrote before jumping to conclusions? It's not like you'll be tainted just by reading it.

You're still relying here on a summary from an unreliable source.

I think that if you read her actual work, you'll see a huge gap between it and what Transgender Map says about it.

Well, the Golden Dome is basically rewarmed SDI or "Star Wars", so it's supposed to be for protection from ICBMs and such. If such protection were actually feasible, then Canada might be interested. Emphasis on the "if", though.

I heard "or" not "but". "But" is in the subtitles.

The U.S. as a whole is not in the business of warfighting, but the DoD is. That said, the rest of what he was saying there was myopic (ignoring climate changes impact on defense) or culture war BS. About what I expect from a DUI hire like him.

Also what the heck is a "gender pronoun"?

I think it's a sign of poor character to make 💩 up about people supporting pedophiles.

In this case, the truth is that some people are drastically less capable than others. Some people use language policing to disguise that truth.

they're just two sides of the same coin. The reason one has higher support needs is that they don't function so well in various ways.

I don't think you understand what denialism means. It means trying to deny reality to avoid an uncomfortable truth. 2/

The "eugenics" bit is a non sequitur. There's nothing about functioning labels that entails a judgment of who should or shouldn't reproduce. Heck, someone seriously wanting to impose eugenics isn't going to care whether one is labeled in terms of functioning or support needs -- especially since 1/

brother exist, and the way they police language seems geared toward that end.

Acknowledging the severity of one's disability isn't dehumanizing. It's just not being in denial.

If anything, the denialism I see in the neurodiversity movement strikes me as ableist.

It's not dehumanizing, just descriptive. It concisely summarizes the distinction between someone like me and someone like my brother, who can barely communicate and needs full-time care.

Trouble is, it seems like there are a lot of autistics who'd rather not acknowledge that people like my 1/

It's only considered "out-of-date" in some circles, especially the ones that flirt with the idea that autism is "just" aa difference. Getting rid of functioning labels seems like it has less to do with "capitalism" and more to make it more difficult to talk about more severely disabled autistics.

I'm guessing he's probably seen several instances where it was.

It's always worth asking, "What would Captain America* do?"

If I'm on the other side of Cap. Roger's mighty shield, I should think VERY hard to ensure I'm really doing the right thing. What would Cap do here?

*Superman is a great alternative if you're a DC man or woman.

I am not ashamed to be an American.

I'm ashamed of this "America" as played by Donald Trump on TV.

But he is UnAmerican.

I won't let them turn my face from my country.
