Just a married genderquizzical tree with a transmasc sapling in college, living on the high plains east of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Once a writer, sometimes a puma, always a tree.

Returned to NM a refugee from trans hate.
If any of y’all are in Albuquerque this evening, I encourage you to go to this Trans Day of Remembrance event. Nico’s good peeps. They were one of the reporters who talked with us about our escape from Arkansas, following the ban on care for trans minors in 2021.

We’re gonna try to make it tonight.

Needless to say, I am handling this very fine.

Been off antidepressants for about two months now. Haven’t been able to get back into the doc the get things set back up. Working in a fourth-floor office in a building where every floor above 1 is a mezzanine has meant a lot of whispers of “Just over the railing and it’s better for everyone.”

Well, there’s snow on the mountain. So there’s that.

Oh my!

It’s…yeah…it sucks pretty bad.

The lack of seriousness about it just made me want to get more serious. Here’s to the safety guys who “notice too much”.

(Um, old pic. I am not to the point of desperation where I’m hitting the flask at 07:30.)

Finally working for a place that respects their people and safety enough to spring for actual big-kid OSHA classes rather than cheap online stuff. Sitting for the #511 for the next few days

Oh, fuck off.

Certain things must be maintained. There must always be a poom on the wallpaper.

Government offices have had the same feeling since I was a tiny kitten, playing with the electric typewriter on my mother’s desk at the BLM office in Roswell. Funny how things change so little.

This’ll sound like I’m joking, but our mini Aussie has a collection of rocks on a shelf in the living room, most of which he has selected and carried away from trips around the state. He also loves watching aircraft cross over our house when they land in ABQ.

Ain’t from vaccines, but…

Moving the sapling back into the dorm today. Two packed-full vehicles, an excited dromaeosaurid, and all the normal moving back into uni stress.

All right, look here you little shit!

I do love a thunderstorm.

Since I’ll probably never make the time to finish this digitally or in ink, here’s a complimentary rough post-it sketch

Dude, wild to think I used to stick my thumb up his ass and now he’s dead.

A doodle while going through online HAZWOPER training.

I’ve had a hold pending on this book for a while, and it finally came available this weekend. Commutes are going to be enjoyable for a bit.

The prose is…semi-erotic. Like, y’know how you read Edward Abbey and go “this guy would fuck the desert if She’d let him”. That but the concept of song dogs.

Welp…there’s a big old weight off my mind and a big new weight on my mind.

[The sedan has been paid off for a bit and now we’re once again dealing with two car payments.]

The hazardous waste training I am taking just gave me the most unintentionally funny image.

This is a man who was on his last warning from HR and his supervisor AND his doctor AND his spouse. This is the face of a man who knew the weight of expectation on his shoulders and fucked that drum anyway.

Just up the foothills, at a home where we regularly dog sit, the cacti are also in an oversaturated CMYK fuckfest. Beetles and bees and cicadas in trees, just slinging packets of DNA with little to no concern for who or what they may decorate with their frenetic spunk chunking.

More cactus flowers

The chollas are blooming extravagantly. I couldn’t quite get a shot of the bee who was absolutely wallowing in one of the blossoms.

The beauty is always there. We come from it, we embody it, and we return to it.

Got slightly roasted yesterday, but I managed to get 90% of our yard knocked down with the push mower (rider’s down with some fucked parts). But! I got to see some clouds that looked like a parasaurolophus kissing an ankylosaur on the head, so all-in-all not a bad day.
