Just finished reading Dramocles by Robert Sheckley . One of the towns on one of the planets was 'Ystrad' which is also a town in the Rhondda. Went down a rabbit hole and Sheckley was commissioned by Powys Media to write a novel based on 'The Prisoner'.Bought my copy in 1984 .

Last night I revisited the 2005 film 'V for Vendetta'. Increasingly feel it more relevant today than it was when released. Just one short line from it - “People shouldn't be afraid of their government. Governments should be afraid of their people.”

Anyone wondering like me why Trump is repeating Putin's line that Ukraine started the war? Can't be to seek support from his voters as he doesn't need them anymore . World leaders and Trump's own GOP senators are aware that Russia invaded Ukraine . So why is he doing it ? What is his motive ?

Recently re-discovered the reading habit that I lost in mid-life.The thing I'm debating is , should I try to revisit books that I've previously started but not got into. I think my record must be Herman Hesse's Glass Bead Game. Bought in my teens and never got past first 40 or so pages.

Just an observation , nothing meaningful. At the other place I was blocking circa 20 people a day. Been here about 6 weeks and so far just blocked 3 posters - 2 MAGA's and someone trying to sell me Cannabis , Oxycodone and Ketamine.

Yesterday morning phoned the farmer I'd ordered some firewood from a few weeks ago . I was wondering when he was going to deliver it. 'No problem , I've been busy but I haven't forgotten you'. About 5.30pm the phone rings , 'I'll be there in about 1/2 hour'. I now have 2 steres ,I love Brittany.

Bonjour or as we say in the old country Bore Da. New to Bluesky , enjoying the experience and hadn't quite realised how much the other place was depressing me. Thanks James Barisic for the starter pack hint.
