George Washington Lane was the first (and to my knowledge, the only) soldier to enlist in both the CSA & US Army during the Civil War (1861-1865). He enlisted with Co E 8th KY Infantry CSA at Hopkinsville, KY. @kentuckygenealogy.bsky.social #genealogy #LigonFamilyProject

2/ He was shocked to learn that we were 13th cousins & that I was related to 18 US President's. He is my uncle by my mother's 2nd marriage, BTW. I also got a copy of this for my New England Plymouth Colony families. Many of whom are in published town records.

1/ I'm not sure I have. I do have a cpl of books my Uncle Wayne brought me when he came up from Memphis to collect his Walton research last summer... primarily because a relation of his (a senator) was in it. 🧵

Carolyn compiled a photo album which she passed to her daughter Reumah [1865-1898]. That album eventually made it's way to my MIL & eventually to my spouse. #genealogy
