Older than before, trying to get wiser but failing to make meaningful progress & still not as energetic as I should be.
Enjoying the moments, places & people around me; not to be taken seriously.

🏥 Local people were promised a new hospital, need a new hospital, and deserve a new hospital; we cannot afford any more delays.

🚫 Conservative chaos and Labour inaction has brought our hospitals to their knees. It has to stop.

It is not just the semi rural parts that are struggling. Old Basing is being squeezed by development but there is still a lottery of connectivity!

Dependency on markets is the traders’ perspective.
Prospecting & exploitation is how chancers & oil/gas markets are served.
Renewable energy sources are predictable & more reliable. Communities need confidence & certainty to develop better standards of living. Community Energy Sharing Networks.

We live & work in communities that individually & collectively drive heat & power demand. Much of our work is in large buildings in close proximity to the places we live. Large buildings with large roofs could be part of place based energy systems. Community Energy Sharing Networks reduce cost.

We don’t make that choice. We should make a far easier one about electing the MP that will represent our local views in Parliament.
We are fortunate that we don’t have presidential elections.

Is it possible to restore a sense of morality & reasonable behaviour (fact based, expert led, balanced reporting) to the UK press?

Given that those malign influences that corrupted large parts of print media (over a period of >40 years) have conquered large swaths of broadcast media too.

That is EXCELLENT news!

Perhaps education is about learning the rules of the game. Sadly, there are few that are teaching most of us what those rules are.
Most learn that leisure is about treats, distractions & relaxation as a reward for hard work.
The privately educated are taught to network & influence in down time.

There will be those that think this is a far fetched & delusion dream.
However, the EU has enacted legislation that requires member states to implement changes aligned with the improvement I described above.
The UK could make these changes work and I hope that our Govt will take action soon.

Not just the landlords. They are the face of the scheme that serves financial services above all else.
House price inflation is served by landlords reducing available supply for freehold. Higher house prices serve interests such as Estate Agents, Banks & Insurance Brokers.
The rest of us just pay.

The point is that any electricity exported to the distribution network incurs Transmission & Distribution Network charges; resulting in reduced SEG. If that electricity is used next door or down the street then those charges are not justified.
Time to refocus with a distributed generation lens.
September 18, 2025 at 9:44 AM
Those charges make sense when the generation is centralised. When generators are colocated on the same LV network as the loads they will serve the burden on Transmission is reduced.
By installing renewable energy schemes with [community] EV charging hubs we could flex for mutual benefit.

Interesting piece.
I am not convinced that a replacement FiT is the solution.
Rooftop #PV is viable for CE investors (using IPS Bencoms). It works when the value of the electricity generated is closer to the retail price. We just need ways to discount Distribution & eliminate Transmission charges.

As it would appear that he should be. It is quite remarkable that she has achieved so much. Those who are the busiest, with best intentions, are likely to make some mistakes & some poor decisions. She was right to resign in the light of her mistakes / decisions in the matter of unpaid stamp duty.

Reading the book by @mrjamesob.bsky.social will spotlight some of the institutional problems caused by a lack of Leadership in HM Govt.
When we elect self-serving politicians who focus on cultivating their personal prospects above a need to encourage national wellbeing we get rotten politics.

Adult education was a joy of my younger life. I have been surprised at how rare it is to have become to have readily available routes for access to formal [in person] adult education classes in all towns.
Joining groups of diverse people in a shared goal to study a common interest is key to society

Perhaps @bbcnewsnight.bsky.social might do a piece on how #Coops could be more widely used to help the UK economy. No doubt there are many at @ukcoops.bsky.social that could explain the detail. Basically, a mutually beneficial model to improve quality at lower costs could simply get the UK moving
