Ah yes, “the middle men are not being greedy enough” must be the real problem

Boneheaded.

As someone about to buy a cargo bike.. any idea how fast they could change things here?

And because of the (admittedly somewhat barmy) way the scheme is set up, presumably you won’t be able to buy said cargo bike and just get the benefits on the first £X, it’ll just be a computer says you have to buy a cheaper bike that doesn’t fit your needs situation 🙄

At least it’s got nice mature trees I suppose.

I don’t think it does much to your car if you do it slowly and at a decent angle but it’s very difficult to do a tight parallel park up the kerb.

Pick any road off Mill Road in Cambridge, almost every one has this

Agree - glimmers of hope from some manufacturers such as Renault though. I think as the fixed costs of making an EV come down things will improve at least somewhat www.youtube.com/watch?v=owlQ...

Currently! Not forever. We should design the system for the future we want.

Since I can’t charge at home, I pay 20% VAT on all my charging too. I do think EV mileage should probably be taxed but why does every change always have to add complication instead of simplifying?

Yeah this one’s gross. Not helped by the dire streetscape on that corner.

In effect the thermal mass lessens the effect of “colder house = less delta to outside” and brings it closer to just cancelling out with the boiler efficiency, at least seems to for my house.

I think thermal mass plays a big part - inside temp drops slowly once the mass is up to temp. I set my “everyone out” temp to 18.5 (2 deg lower) and in practice the heating doesn’t kick in until at least midday to keep it there (and then much lower than it would at 5 if it was off in the day)
