Ah ok, fair enough. But I still think maybe the youngsters are being optimistic.

I'm all for bashing boomers but, sorry, how is having low consumer confidence somehow a sin?

Oh, the gas line has moved! I'd given up even looking at that part of the chart. I'd better go to the office tomorrow.

I think actually the boat a little to the right would be nice tbh.

It would however be easy enough for Labour activists to use these tactics (Trump especially, I'm not convinced many Brexit voters are genuinely remorseful) informally, except that Starmer has lost all rank and file support by telling everyone the racists are right.

Churchill was a racist colonial.
Stalin was Stalin.
Your conclusion doesn't follow

Every Londoner knows that the North starts beyond the Euston Road.

It's not just obstruction, pavements are destroyed by the huge weight of modern vehicles.

Wow!

I believe

Wonderful!
January 1, 2026 at 10:13 AM
Here too. We'll end up with Trumpism despite the fact must Farage voters think he's dreadful.

Written by 15 year old biology student I think you mean.

Cargo bikes might have reduced the demand for them a bit.

I looked at Zipcar sometimes but I would have wanted it for weekend/overnight/long day trips and for that it seemed phenomenally expensive. For occasional trips in town it might be ok but Uber is probably easier.

Well, he deserves some credit for producing Mr Klein.
December 30, 2025 at 7:03 PM
What difference would it have made if they hadn't believed them?
December 30, 2025 at 3:24 PM
We'll, it ,*agrees* with your view. I'm not sure it*confirms* anything.

Those who voted Trump would mostly do so again or would probably not regret it in a major way. So stop patting yourselves on the back and smugly thinking yourselves Cassandras and do something useful.

People responding to this seem often to be conflating Republican lack of concern about extremism with the few centrist media figures of little consequence who were cautious or pedantic about words or whatever.
December 18, 2025 at 3:01 PM
What is the point of interviewing 37 supposed Cassandra's out of the millions who have been filled with doom since Trump emerged and then presenting your "sense" of who they are. Instead do some analysis of those who didn't vote or voted Trump.
December 18, 2025 at 3:01 PM
This told-you-so stuff is a bit pathetic: click-bait self-affirmation. Virtually all non republicans feared the worst. You're not some genius prophet for thinking Trump a fascist 10 years ago. Yes, a few media figures downplayed it but at least give evidence this made a difference.

I've never thought of that before. But how many bike thefts actually involve cutting a half decent lock? I find it hard to believe thieves would carry powerful bolt cutters but not an Allen key.
