I wanted to photograph the art with the subject before I hang it on my wall, and I was never going to get the exact scene I painted given that I painted it from the memory of seeing the feed processing plant from the driver's side window of my car while driving, so I'd say this is close enough.

Also, whoever put some kind of water spell/hex on my painting, either I'll fight you or I'm sorry - whatever stops water from spontaneously generating in my artwork ever again.

being soaked for hours, that part was untouched. But the top layer is gouache paint, which is a kind of water color, so it nearly all came off, and I had to wipe it off with a paper towel, dry the frame, dry the painting, dry the backing, reglue the canvas, and paint the top layer of

Note that the paper bag right next to it on the table didn't have a drop of water on it. I still have no idea how this happened.

but I actually added it this year just because the 2019 section of the sketchbook had one skipped page, and since it's not possible for me to do another 2019 drawing, this is how I chose to complete it with art from that time. This is still one of my all-time favorite photographs.

I sealed this piece with Mod Podge, which was terrifying for a minute because it makes everything wet, and it looks like the chalk has disappeared before it dries.
