We would not be stuck with the vain hope that DOJ will vindicate people's rights in any subsequent litigation but your office ought to have standing to assert the rights of people in Arlington to public safety.

Can't our local police or even Arlington citizens ask ICE what their probable cause is for making arrests in Arlington? With photos you could identify ICE agents to name in warrants. DOJ will move to quash any warrant or remove a criminal prosecution to federal court. But the County would be a party

Even if ICE agents are not masked, can't you charge them with a violation of state law if they seize someone just because they have brown skin, speak English poorly, and don't carry US citizenship papers on their person? I don't want Arlington police trying to arrest ICE agents, but can't they ask

Can't you issue arrest warrants for masked people abducting people or even just shoving people on the streets of Arlington? Kidnapping and assault are crimes in Virginia. Obviously if they have a real warrant signed by a real federal judge, the County can't do anything, but can we litigate something
