the rear of a Spanish column, 1895. Cuban insurgents would let the bulk of the column pass and then do a cavalry charge into the tear, with machetes as their weapons. the few Spanish rifle-wielders would get 3 or 4 shots off (they had Mauser bolt-action rifles) before they were hacked to pieces.
