Yuck. Our leaves have just started turning brown and dropping in the last couple weeks. it seems really late. I need to sort thru my Christmas lights and see if any still work.’😂

I have for sure smoked some for chili stuffed poblanos. Very little char but awesome flavor.

I may never do that black level of char. I kinda pondered doing them in the pizza oven for a brief little bit. That would char them. 😂

Kenji Lopez peels the peppers in chicken stock and then lets the skins soak in the stock to impart flavor to the stock. Then uses the stock in the verde sauce. I just didn’t wanna roast them that hard. Mostly because I didn’t wanna set off the smoke alarms and that’s a whole nuther step. 😂😂😂
