I feel like in this world of expanded nostalgia continuity that it’s a shame we haven’t seen Clark and Lois interact with Vicki Vale and Alexander Knox.

This is just an issue of personal taste, but I have never liked a raised collar on Superman. At best it feels awkward, and at worst it looks fascistic.

Wish World actually straight up terrified me: A conspiracy theorist incel grifter is given access to reality warping powers and makes a world of enforced “good old days” where any deviation from his version of a proper society gets you disappeared when someone narcs on you out of fear.

I just realized my last few posts have nothing but negativity, so in the spirit of delight I will share that this year is the 50th anniversary of Deep Red, a movie that blew my mind and introduced me to a wider world of cinema. Palpable terror and tremendous style abound.

For as much as I enjoy Statham, I’m highly icked out by the marketing for A Working Man. The blue collar worker vs. human trafficking narrative feels like it’s targeted at hardcore right-wing audiences who thought Sound of Freedom was some kind of cinematic triumph.

Of all the atrocious takes in the latest “Will Doccy Who Get Camcelled?!” panic, this is the worst one. Laurence Fox is the opposite of The Doctor in every way, to the point where even Billie Piper couldn’t stay married to him.

With as poorly as Section 31 was received, I think Paramount+ will take all the wrong lessons away from its failure, and the locked-in creative team is going to keep on chugging along making something that feels less and less like the universe I fell in love with. I’m bummed.

There’s a whole visually unique and unexplored (aside from support media) space in Trek lore where we could have seen the Federation lose Kirk, almost come to total war with the Klingon Empire, then come together and rebuild into the TNG era. And Section 31 had… absolutely none of that promise.
