Take heart that it's probably going to bother the ICE agents more than it bothers you.

“The first is the small fraction who are independently motivated to commit violent acts."

Your article has a lot of insight on stopping people who are with ICE for approval, but is there anything on how to specifically deal with that small fraction? Just deny them help from approval-seekers?

Do you want to have resources denied to you just because the majority of your state votes differently from you?

This is why conservatives should want to abolish the Electoral College. If you're a conservative in a "blue state", you don't matter to a Republican president because your vote gets thrown out in every presidential election...

If there's really that much oil right now, shouldn't that be buying us enough time to research and adopt cleaner and renewable energy sources before we run out of oil?

Is the GOP having *that* much buyer's remorse over Vivek?

Also, the second best part of the episode that I can remember off the top of my head is "Boo-urns".

It (mildly) bothers me that people get the phrase wrong a lot of the time, though. It's "the quiet part loud [and the loud part quiet]", not "the quiet part out loud".

I was going to say, Vonnegut loved to use that quote in his works (and rightfully so).

And it was also great when Zohran Mamdani cited Debs at the beginning of his victory speech in November.

I still think that the phrase "Department of Homeland Security" sounds a bit too fascist, tbh.

Most of the measures done by the American government in the wake of 9/11 were excessively hysterical, and we should undo the vast majority of them, including ICE.

What are these solo tabletop RPGs that are going to surpass Fortnite and COD? Are they actually a thing right now?

K-ON was actually on American Netflix from November 2019-November 2021. I wonder how many "normies" watched it then. It's an interesting philosophical question if that instantly invalidated their normie status.

Also, you have a good point about Spirited Away. Studio Ghibli films are basically...

Every presidential candidate needs to have a plan to expand the Supreme Court. That's something that can be done on Day 1, and it would immediately go a long way towards fixing the country.

So, the problem is that when you need those spells to heal status conditions late in the game, they end up being underleveled and not working because you didn't have much opportunity to use them earlier. That to me is the main weakness of FF2.
December 19, 2025 at 8:55 PM
You have to level-up each individual spell, and it becomes a pain in the ass with regards to spells for healing status conditions. You don't need to use those spells all the time like you would for attack spells or HP restoration spells...

Famicom FF2? The leveling system makes sense in theory, because it's basically Malcolm Gladwell's "10,000-hour rule" as a game mechanic. It's logical that the more you perform a task, the better you get at it.

However, the problem with how FF2 implements it in practice is magic...

MAGA is louder and prouder about how much their policies hurt people. This is always what the modern conservative movement has been, it's just that they were inspired by their God-Emperor Trump to say all the quiet parts loud. We don't need a strong Republican Party, we need the Overton Window to...

"We'll have our Republican Party and true conservatism back once this nightmare is over."

Sorry, but MAGA is not a separate entity from what the Republican Party has been for the last 45 years. It's the same shitty supply-side economics and backwards social policy, the only difference is that...
