I liked this one a lot. Mann is a director who really grew on me as I got older. It was fun to see scenes shot on the hill overlooking our old apartment. This film is a love letter to LA, and it spends lots of time in a car without getting claustrophobic.

A movie about how abled people use and infantilize disabled people and the harm that they can do when entering into disabled spaces with selfish intentions that features lots of disabled actors…so ahead of its time.

Blathers recommended this as a rainy day movie, and once again, he’s one of the few people who does not miss with understanding the vibes I’m trying to harness.
I loved the style of this film. It’s certainly a vibes movie, but I love a vibes movie.

I put off watching this because I was afraid of how it would make me feel— it touched on themes that are EXTREMELY close to home for me. But I did it! Because it’s worse to not. This was an excellently made, emotionally savage film. I’m not as ruined as…

Sorry, but I desperately wish fictional edition of Ed and Loraine Warren would adopt me. I find these movies so damn cozy, even when they’re Not Amazing and also they’re propaganda for the Catholic Church etc.

A historical film about disability issues with a huge number of disabled performers? It’s for me! I’ve wanted to watch this for ages. the combo of its mention in a recent @letterboxd.social blog and it leaving HBOMax soon pushed it to the top of the queue 🎥 #filmsky

I’m now on the couch with ALL my support cushions, on pain meds.

I don’t know a lot about the creation process for this film, and I found myself kind of (probably unfairly) comparing it to Nosferatu (2024), which I adore. I also haven’t seen Frankenstein (1931) and I assume that informs this film a lot. But I liked it!

This is a beautiful and powerful film with a really inspiring monologue about why we make art and what memories are our emotional home. I still liked The Lives of Others better, but I’m v taken with Florian and wish he had more features to watch.

I did not take my ADHD meds today and it shows. I promise I’m not cheating, @kevinktx.bsky.social 😂
