How much of that low sentiment is economics-based and how much is spiritual, from having to get up every morning in a low, grasping country where 'hurr durr' has replaced e pluribus unum? A lot of 'well, this sucks' out there, of different flavors

They didn't do it right, and certainly not the way I would have done it.

A concept so complex that a ridiculous chunk of UK theater, film, fiction, is given over to its explication.

Displacement activity. After a bad day at work you go home and kick the dog. You can't kick the boss - he's not listening and he can fire you.

The dog at least looks like he's listening, probably won't remember you kicked them, and even then he needs you to open the cans....

Welcome to The Ratchet.

Microblogging is all, "Can you top this?" The Ratchet turns only one way.

You would think more classroom teachers would wash up in politics. Some do - like Governor Walz - but not as many as you would think. They may not be great speakers, but they do a lot of it.

The list I saw them they was supposed a dozen: reps, various candidates no sitting senators

It's a crowded marketplace, difficult to differentiate yourself in - I'm surprised the number is that low. You rarely get such a good opening to be an opportunist and look respectable doing it.

Ditto but James Earl Jones. I'll be thinking of it in June when we have the semiquincennial bum fights on The White House lawn.

But Glonzo, if a lifetime of reading the sports page has taught me anything, it taught me that the team that wants it more always wins, and if they're losing? Clearly they don't want it enough.

If there's still such a thing as a 'Catholic vote', this is it. Not Adrian Vermeule. Not J.D. Vance.

(That grandmother was 5 when Vatican 2 happened - may not even have been born yet. And probably remembers when the altar girls got canned.)

A whole new grift emerges... Insurance Sherpas brokers, middle men of every kind skimming from your already inadequate check. I guess 'theft' and 'fraud' are *kinds* of market failures.

I blame Robert Caro - Caro's "Master of the Senate" came out what, 40 years ago? It was about events 20, 30 years before that.

Mistah Lyndon - he dead.
