Finished a fantastic vampire novella: Taste, Nikki Clarke. How they came to be is tragic but inventive. Hard to talk specifics w/o giving away plot but him finally being able to court her + the reveal of where he’s been is so intimate & lovely. Absolutely enchanted. #indieauthor

Just finished a great #alienromance novella: Once Upon Elora’s Eve, Kenzie James. Character driven. Relationship dev’t that focuses on intimate details—looks, touches, sounds. Sweet, spicy, great dialogue. Lesbian FMC, non-binary alien w/ special equipment. Author did a lot w/ little page time.

Recent read: this Viking inspired historical Romance by Elizabeth Stephens. I really enjoyed it. It’s on the darker side so check TW. Palpable connection between MCs. Kind loved how violent he got on her behalf. Apprx 250 pgs.

This was so sweet. Low angst, fun world building, language barrier. Character driven—really focuses in on discovering one another. Abrupt ending but the story is so charming I didn’t mind. I hope there are more to come. And I’d LOVE to have a print trophy but sadly not available.

This book has given me so much anxiety! It’s #scifiromance but also part psychological thriller—if you have any kind of water fears. He’s a cyborg with animal and human DNA. She is human and a water chemist. He hears her distress call and rescues her from a flooding planet.

I don’t know what Lee Jacquot puts in her novellas but they’re always delicious. Actually I do, it’s how she uses banter to build tension by revealing truths.

Anyway, if you want a quick V Day romance read, pick this up. I know I keep it not human most of the time but this one is very human.
