My concern is the empty chimney hole with the roofing missing around it and further down with the wet stain. I'd fear a rotten roof, weakened floor and embedded mold. They painted it to look crisp and clean but it might be a tear down. Still, if she owns the property that's a great deal.

I wish I could do alt text. My signal barely goes through (after multiple tries) with regular text + photo. It's a wonderful element of Bluesky. I'll keep trying.

Aroon's good boy Finn wasn't left out of the wedding party.

A wedding in wine country. They and the setting are so beautiful it looks a movie, as my mom said.

I'm sure I will, I love British cozies. The ex-nun investigator makes it intriguing.

I love finding beach glass, especially the rare colors. My dog got jealous, though.

Probably a Bibleforscher, or Bible Student (Jehovah's Witness). The Smithsonian Holocaust Museum has a floor devoted to them. They were executed & put in concentration camps for refusing to join the Nazi military or make the salute.

It's not generally remembered except by people who went to school in Alaska, but the U.S. did fight a battle on American land: Battle of the Aleutian Islands.

Hopefully not! A couple people have Starlink here, but it doesn't work well in this area.

I don't know if they do. I got Internet in 2015, but it's always been pretty sketchy and I can't do much online that requires a lot of security, like online banking and government websites.

That's wonderful. I felt so awful for those poor people. Our mail is carried by float planes and is held up by the weather so there was no way to get their checks to them promptly.

I work at a rural post office, mail 2x monthly. A neighboring town's mail accidentally ended up at my P.O. including nearly 20 social security checks. Those poor folks had to wait 2 weeks before they got them. Apparently some rural, elderly folks don't know how to set up direct deposit.
