You usually only find sea urchins, especially ones this big, way down on a minus tide. But this one got knocked loose from the bottom and the tide floated it to the surface. It's about the size of a coconut.

Gorgeous. So crisp and intense. I wish you'd been here to take this photo. All I had was the lame camera on my cheap skiff phone (cheap because they tend to fall overboard). I had to saturate a bit to make it even a little like real life. In person it was breathtaking. You would have captured it.
