A Scrivener screenshot of a project that reads as follows: Wiping the last of the sweat off my brow, I abandoned my carry-on and climbed aboard to find a woman with fiery red and orange hair staring up at me from her coffee cup. She sat within a kitchenette, perched with her elbows atop the small square table in the booth. “Bodyguard?” Bodyguard was a slang term in my industry, so I was happy to clarify. “Executive protection.” She eyed me up and down at that, as if assessing the claim. I was suddenly self-conscious of my rushed Tide Pen job on my collar. Not precisely the first impression I’d been hoping to make on my new colleagues, but I wasn’t entirely sure the woman was really sizing up my clothes so much as my physique in them. I wasn’t vain, but I knew that look anywhere. “Executive indeed.” Clearing her throat with a cough, Pat seemed to finish her review with a bit of a nod and a much less assertive, “Noted.”

There is nothing better than treating yourself to a hot drink and a little treat before tucking yourself in to work on a project. I think my brain works best with the background hustle and bustle of being out in public.
