I'm visiting Redwing, MN for a couple of days. Wandering around, I came across the one member of the Conehead trio that I was missing, Thrust. Got him for a steal. Well below eBay prices. Feels good.

Right before my birthday - way back in July - my wife saw this advertised on social media: A 4k special edition of one of my very favorite movies, Freaked (1993). She ordered it for me, as a gift. It took this long for it to arrive. She kept it a secret the entire time. Goddamn, I'm lucky.

My fourth take on making a Corvette styled after G1 Optimus Prime's alt mode in No Man's Sky. Real nerd shit. The entire "cab" is achieved via base nuilding parts, not Corvette parts - as is the stripe along the "trailer" section.

Hrm. I thought that looked like Caza art. I found two more pieces/variations he did for the film. Wish I could find them as stand-alone images in high resolution. Grr.

My head has been electrode-free for a few days now. My skin is starting to heal from the sodium-based adhesive that kept them stuck to my noggin. Contact areas on my scalp were actually bleeding. I never wanna do that again.

I'm watching The Canary Murder Case (1929), and it's a weird beast: An example of a movie that was first shot entirely as a silent film, then converted into a talkie, via voice-over, and reshoots. It's clumsy work. Louise Brooks is voiced by someone else, because she'd already fucked off to Germany.

I've been enjoying space-truckin' around in No Man's Sky. The Corvette building schema is really fun. Of course, I've been using ReShade and my custom LUT to sharpen/clarify the image, and calm down those blown-out RGB colors (my LUT mimicks CMYK color, with appropriate hue shifting).

Civil liberties across the Western world are being replaced by a tragically comic take on an authoritarian scheme, worse that makes the average 1990s dystopian cyberpunk B-movie look tame . . . all by pushing a thought-terminating cliché.
I can't believe the PMRC has won, 40 years after the fact.
