So many people (seemingly all pundits) think Trumpian policy without Trumpian bombast would be more dangerous; more persuasive. But the policies are very unpopular; only Trump's vise-like hold on his cult keeps the party in line. His carnival barker style is essential to maintaining this.

If moderates and centrists were actually as obsessed with polling as they're accused of being, the world would be a better place. There are few issues on which Trump is not an absolute punching bag. The data is crystal clear on this point.
