Oh dear Lord, this is preposterous. I can't think of a better way to promote "British Values" abroad than the British Council. Whoever made this decision should be fired as a cost-cutting measure.

As it was obvious to anyone (except the dullard Witkoff) that RU would never agree to this, how is this breaking news? It would have been breaking news if RU had agreed to it as that would be extremely unlikely.

This is #TACOTrump's way out, knowing full well his "friend" Orban (and Fico) won't stop buying RU oil. That said nobody ever expected #TACOTrump to seriously sanction RU, this, however, lets him blame others for his deliberate inaction.

Poland and the rest of the EU nations should also consider closing its airspace to Belarussian "Belavia" now the US has lifted sanctions on it.

What a security nightmare that will be for the USA if Putin attends. If they're prepared to take pot-shots at #TACOTrump, there'll be queues lining up for Putin both home-grown and international fans attending. An absolute security nightmare.

Unfortunately it's extremely unlikely that even if/when they exist those giving the "guarantees" will be any more likely to go to war with RU than they are now. As they clearly aren't prepared to do so now why would Russia beleive they will in the future? Arm UA to the teeth!

I very much doubt that this will play out as the WH/FBI think it will. Potentially there is a huge amount of collatoral damage inside John Bolton's head and he will be given media time and coverage

The simplest way to change #TACOTrump's tone permanently is simply to make it clear no Nobel Peace Prize unless the UN Charter and international law are uphelp. If he does, he can have his prize, if he doesn't then there's no chance.
