I've pulled out some options for the first leg of the Amazing Readathon: a book with green on the cover is my ticket to to the Emerald City!

But now to just pick one.. 🤔

The Incandescent is one of those rare works of fiction that I'm certain I will want to revisit in the future—maybe at a time when I need to find a new path or contemplate my place in the world at large, or when I simply need a reminder that not all children are devil's spawn.

Releasing today! 🪶

It took over two months to receive my Broken Binding Sci-Fi Sub invite—which is NOTHING compared to the Fantasy Sub, that one can take years!

I've been craving more sci-fi lately so this came at the perfect time, PLUS Doomsday Book by Connie Willis was already sitting in my virtual to be read pile

Watering has gotten to the point that I categorize each plant based on how many days past due for water they are.. (5, 10, 15+, etc.) These poor guys have been dealing with my bullshit for MONTHS 🥲

I've been waiting for this day since I purchased the Cook Server Forever soundtrack on Bandcamp in 2023. Opening Menu Remix would have *easily* been the song I listened to the most that year. Let's see if it happens in 2025 instead! 🥳

In 2025 I'm aiming to:
• play a greater number of *substantial* games than I have the past few years,
• find more games that bring me JOY, and
• keep a gaming journal to serve both as a space for me to reflect more on what I've played and as a place to hold memories of notable gaming experiences!
What are your video game resolutions for next year, friends?

Mine is to make more time to play games I actually enjoy rather than mostly for work research. And to finally play Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. 🤞🏼

Coming in at a whopping 1:37 minutes in length, I just KNEW the backrooms was going to take the cake. It's a good song but it surely wasn't the one I spent the most time with..

That could only be @ashellinthepit.bsky.social's Ghost on the Road from the Pacific Drive soundtrack 😍

prompt / title contains the term for a family relationship

hard mode / trees appear on the cover

Let me introduce the most *family relationship* book out there: a short story collection where nearly half the titles meet the h.m. requirement 👏 PLUS folklore from around the world!

At the end of June I read the first chapter, or equivalent, of 38(!) books released in the past six months (or soon to be released) and rated them based off how intriguing those first few pages are and I ended up with EIGHT 10/10s! Let me tell you all about them! 💙📚

Potting up season is going to be *so* satisfying this year.

My library book strategy is to borrow every book I come across that's on my to-read list (so, like.. around 50 atm) and then when deciding what to read next I just go for whichever book isn't going to automatically renew because someone else placed it on hold.

It's surely not the *worst* strategy..

Today I expected to finish one of the two books I was in the middle of, but I definitely didn't expect it to be this one! I couldn't put it down after the halfway point.

I think I extra appreciated The Lost Apothecary because of a recent playthrough of Strange Horticulture.

My rating: ★★★★½ (4.5)
So far The Lost Apothecary is not at all what I expected (I was under the impression that this was more fantasy than historical fiction) but I'm really enjoying it nonetheless.

A strong start to 2024! Let's go!

Welp, The Moth Keeper becomes my first official finish of 2024.

My rating: ★★★☆☆ (3)

This is a wonderful book that was just not for me. Recommended for those looking for a relaxing read who value poring over beautiful art over reading a lot of text in their graphic novels.
Okay I'm giving myself until the end of the day to finish this book. I started The Moth Keeper in September of last year and I should have put it down ages ago.

DNF MORE BOOKS!

I'm tired of complaining, so let me rephrase:

I'm ecstatic to be starting a new year with one fewer job and so much less stress.

Now just look at all these paths I have to choose from!

I'm nearly done fixing up my game library spreadsheet and I.. I am SO sorry to any Steam friends that actually pay attention to their friend activity feed.

I seem to form new philosophies on how to best approach <insert task here> on the daily. 🥲
