My fiancee, a senior game designer at an AAA studio, playtested the prototype for my new twine game this morning, and given her pedigree I was really nervous. Discovered: 1 bug, 1 or 2 ux issues, apart from that a thumbs up verdict, and the constructive criticism is really helpful. Relieved+happy.

In text-heavy interactive fiction, writing is as essential as it can be a pitfall. It's no excuse to be verbose. Every word on screen should count.

Why I love Twine and still build with Twine
I must have been 10 or 11 years old when I "designed" my first video game. And by designing I mean: I created a character, and then mapped out the levels by hand with a biro in a graph paper…
