Joanie Labine was the first female DJ at the Whisky A Go-Go in L.A. in 1964. She played records in a suspended booth next to the stage and danced along to the music. Club goers thought it was part of the show, which resulted in the popularity of go-go dancing.

They are just disappearing people off the street. Having a hard time thinking about literally anything else.
Not sure if this has been shared here yet, but this is video of Rumeysa Ozturk's arrest posted by WCVB. It's terrifying.

Just an astonishing denial of science and will cause so much pain to the 45 million Americans facing mental health challenges.

I had a week off work because I needed to breathe a little (a lot) and came back to absolute chaos. I don’t know what to do. I started a new antidepressant last week. So hopefully this insane anxiety will break - can’t with the nausea and barely eating anymore. This pic is from last week.

So I guess I sketch (mostly) daily now. At least a little. I took the week off because I have been painfully off kilter. I’m not sure what on kilter looks like tbh - what is kilter - I will look into that today. After Sheryl and I go to the Mexican bakery but before Fritz and I pour candles.

Dorothy B. Porter changed libraries 💜

The Dewey Decimal System used to only have two classifications for Black people: 325 (colonization) & 326 (slavery). Each book by a Black person was put into one of these classifications. A book of poetry? Classified as colonization.
