Days without someone saying "My OCD" because something slightly inconveniences/annoys them:
a sign that says days without nonsense hangs on a door

I hate to say this but this community does not care about mental health as much as we say we do. Multiple times I have seen people have full on episodes online and the response from the masses is never good or helpful

A psychology researcher's review of Turtles All The Way Down:

""TATWD" uses audio and visual effects to replicate the sensory experience of a thought spiral, and it does so more authentically than I've ever seen."
What "Turtles All the Way Down" Gets Right About OCD
The book “Turtles All the Way Down” helped me feel seen during my early battles with OCD. Does the movie represent the mental health condition as well?

A thread about disability:
Someone a few weeks ago told me they were surprised that I never got to do ERP with a therapist 1-on-1, because of how much progress I achieved. But I'm no perfect patient. I don't always feel that I can do the things that scare me the most. the 10/10 fears, I can't face yet.

I don’t talk nearly enough about OCD, the disorder that has basically stolen 10+ years of my life, but I wish people had the idea of how *massive* an effort I have to make just to be able to function every single day of my life. And that they stopped using OCD as a joke, that too

Post OCD treatment, while symptoms are controlled, and most of my functioning has been restored for years, it is still a chronic and lonely MH condition to live with. People just don’t understand it. It makes times of possible relapse exceedingly hard to deal with. 😪

Some people have this movie image of what ocd is and its involves washing your hands a lot of shit like that but its way more varied and destructive in many cases. Its like addiction in a sense but its not that, its its own thing that creates its own set of problems even if they seem similar.

The hardest thing for me personally in dealing with ocd is the loops you get stuck in. You get this splinter in your mind and for days or weeks on end you cant get it out and you get stuck in a way of thinking or thinking about a thing or event constantly and it affects your mood and productivity.

Throughout my life, I've had a pattern of people leaving when my mental health acted up. It sucks, tbh - I've since learned how to warn people and to stay on my own when it's getting bad, but still - OCD is no joke to deal with on your own, and it's as potent as an addiction.
