Putting radio tags in those suckers was my entry into freshwater science! (Almost exactly 25 yrs ago.) We caught them by swimming over them and scooping them with a salmon dip net. Some migrated as far as from Troy, OR to Lewiston, ID

It is, thanks, those are good examples. And so many other things too, programs, safety networks, whole frigging systems that were not 100% efficient (nothing is) but worked more or less to provide for folks in so many ways
