Best movies of the 2000s, pt 4.

20: Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy - 2011

What makes this thriller so good is how utterly mundane everything is. As the spymasters jockey for power atop British intelligence, human weakness is the downfall of George Smiley, and his redemption.

Best movies of the 2000's part 3.

30: The Harry Potter series - 2001

Making 8 movies both accessible to a general audience and acceptable to the die hard fans is harder than it looks.

29: The Passion of the Christ - 2004

A brutal portrayal of a story commonly told in rather gentle environments.

Top 50 movies of the 2000s, part 2.

40: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang - 2005

Robert Downey Jr. is a criminal who stumbles his way into Hollywood and stardom. Also something similar happens in this movie. Val Kilmer actually outshines Downey in this thriller.

50 best movies of the 2000's

50. Us - 2019

Peele's sophomore effort is neither profound nor extraordinarily suspenseful, but damn is it creepy.

49. Detroit - 2017

Google describes it as "Intense, Bleak and Hateful" I cannot improve upon this description of this Kathryn Bigelow film.
