I don't know. It might be possible. The Sherrif's department is almost 50% Hispanic, so I can't imagine that many of them are happy with ICE. Not that the LASD have clean hands, but they are the least bad in this.

That's the Sherriff's department they are helping, not the LAPD. The former has decried the Federal response and are refusing the cooperate with the Gestapo. So, slightly less ACAB than usual.

Yes, you can get italian citizenship that with with certain stipulations. When you were born, when they were born, when they left Italy, etc. Do some research and contact your nearest Italian consulate for information. It's something I'm looking into myself.
