Damn fool, not with damn fool dog anymore :(

Alt text usually funnier than the message itself.
It looks very “unfrozen” now, but the bird and I are slightly surprised by the 4cm of ice *under* the water.

My daughter is 13…….

(Note the bird poo, you connoisseurs of the form)

Did a last minute diesel run yesterday (slightly over an inch thick). Amusingly, if one goes fast, the bow wave breaks the ice before the prow hits it.

A cold day on the canal (outside, at least). Reminds me of the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen.

Lived near the canal when I grew up, walked to college down it.

One day, it’s frozen. Two teenagers, walking on the ice.

They were throwing bricks at each others feet!!

Still living when I left….

This is lovely - a cast list of ships from The Battle of the River Plate.

Wonder if they got Equity cards. @dreadships.bsky.social

Yeah, buy her a life jacket and see how impressed she is :)

Barney the dog (long time ago) set off after a deer foal. 15 seconds later came legging it back pursued by a parent.

Couple more years of snuggles and confidence and she might end up this crazed. Theo was a long term blubbering wreck (not rehabilitated by me)

Theo took time (not my work), and is the bestest doggy. Hang in, and give them lots of love and cuddles.

Excellent gig!

I only foster him (sometimes), but he’s sooo gorgeous. Really good natured and my mission is to take him on adventures, where he can pull stupid faces. Oh….

Theo from Romania has enjoyed some cheese and biscuits with daddy.

A civilised Sunday evening.

Having cheese and crackers with the dog. Who is very pleased.

I’m bored, so I thought I’d actually see what a smart appliance was like - this is me trying to connect to my washing machine. But no, Hotpoint/Haier, want to know where I am.

The person writing it was soooo embarrassed, they couldn’t write “enable”

I believe my dog is his love child.

#WolfAlice in Liverpool last night. Just amazing.

Joff waved at small child which made her very happy. Only saw the two teenagers I took, which is a bit sad. They had an awesome time. Take kids to gigs!

Thanks!

Theo here only cares about foxes. No other animals exist!

He is the finest dog.

Except when he decides to do zoomies at 1am. On a narrow boat.

Finally, they’ve actually done some work resetting and pointing the top layers. Looks better.

Had a good chat with an engineer, who chilled me out a bit. He pointed out that it’s “a heavy bastard”, and has been slowly moving for centuries. Also, that the surface damage is more due to surface turbulence than the bridge moving.

Reassured by the attention.

The bridge is now *covered* in survey targets. Apparently there are details going back to the 1880’s to compare against.
