Always a favourite of mine. It's not his greatest attempt at a book (that has to to be Underworld), but it might be the most completely realised of his full scale novels. Near flawless writing.

Interesting to wonder the most stolen-for-titles passage by anyone. There's that Macbeth soliloquy (three, at least). Yeats's Second Coming (three or four). Probably some biblical passages give either a run for their money.
