Fantastic piece. Really liked this insight…

I suspect that what this would actually do is that it would just alter the way founders draw income. Rather than borrowing against shares to avoid tax, it would induce them to simply draw income like everyone else (albeit much larger).

Outside of tax debates, Tech guys discuss their passion of advancing society as the reason they do what they do. But when tax policy enters the discussion, they suggest they would quit everything if their tax rate went up.

The Deep South in the US is basically like Eastern Europe. Very conservative and poor health outcomes.

I don’t know if CA & NY are equal to Western Europe, but I’m just saying it’s the really conservative Deep South states driving this.
