I made Herman because I wanted a character that can (and will) keep up with Jacky. He's not gonna get tired or bored. He has a troubled introvert in his sights. She is his type. And she probably snuck a look at him changing shirts.
He would have done a wellness check anyway, but she put out tuna.
Sketches from Herman in 2015. My style was more angular at the time. My chins were pointier, and my bodies were longer (stretched out, almost). Next to them are some colored sketches from 2024. I was trying to capture some of the superficially annoyed energy from the original version. Herman catches a nonbinary lizard anthro trying to steal his phone in the market. He catches them with a yarn rope and leans over them smiling while he takes it back. "If taking stuff is on the table... maybe I'll take you." A size comparison of Herman's 'true form' (200+ pounds of rainbow string) and Jacky. He's about the size of an unraveled couch. Some of the sketches are of her lifting his yarn in bulky ropes. They're not that heavy on their own, but there's a lot to wrap her arms around. Herman with Jacky (lovingly) pushed against a wall. They're kissing. And a couple of other scribbles of his yarn form wrapped around her or just spiraling in the doodle void.

This was the first image I made that got a lot of likes, so I will probably always perceive it as the most popular one.
Herman (dragon form) leans over Jacky and grins. She looks up with her arms and ankles crossed and her tail curled, maybe a little apprehensive but not uncomfortable. He backs her into the wall and presses his snout into the top of her head. He makes a show of opening it. There's a lot of yarn ropes coming out and an implication that he's going to yank her in. At the last minute he transforms back into a human and kisses the top of her head instead.

The planet Uranus on a black background. The planet appears blue with a large, white patch taking up the right half. The patch is whitest at the centre, then fades into blue as it expands from right to left. A thin outline of Uranus is also white. Around the planet is a system of nested rings. The outermost ring is the brightest while the innermost ring is the faintest. Unlike Saturn’s horizontal rings, the rings of Uranus are vertical and so they appear to surround the planet in an oval shape. There are 9 blueish white dots scattered around the rings.
