Albany's Trans Comm is hearing a presentation on the planned improvements to the Kains Ave bikeway: albanyca.primegov.com/viewer/previ...

@prinzrob.bsky.social Can the Marin cycle track be extended eastbound across SPA all the way to Kains? The clunky two-phase turn leaves a lot to be desired.

These discrepancies had me wondering how many SF residents opt out of the district. Based on ACS data. 40% of kids in SF go to non-SFUSD schools vs only 18% in Berkeley. I assume Berkeley's percent disadvantaged would be closer to SF's if it were less integrated.

Car carnage on Solano, Albany. Curious if any parklet permit programs require bollard level protection (or if they actively forbid them)

I wonder if 2026 is the final year to pass substantial housing reform in CA for a while … Looks like Wiener is going to be replaced by NIMBY-lite N Pelosi’s daughter. Doesn’t mentioned anything on housing in her press vid www.sfchronicle.com/politics/art...

Parking section of the CA Forever Specific Plan is interesting...No parking maximums for housing and plans for parking garages to be within a 1/2 mile or less of every home, with upwards of 114k parking spaces planned across at least 54 parking garages. Not really incentivizing transit use here...

Rare new construction condos listed for sale in Oakland. I wonder what led the developer to list as condos instead of rentals… My guess is that the risk from condo defect laws was outweighed by low rental prices.

New anti-RV barriers on Telegraph. Never ceases to amaze me that these barriers are never used to protect bikers and always deployed to displace PEH

Fascinating to see how Newsom exacts his pound of flesh in the legislature - in this case I'm guessing he doesn't want to piss off CHP so he can retain them to do his bidding (e.g. homeless removal, surge force into cities, etc)
