Retired now, back in UK after time away, likes walking, baking, motorcycles and warm weather. Definitely left of centre, pro EU.

Don't DM me a generic "Hi" or "Hello" and little else it makes me guess you're a bot, ditto 1/2 naked pictures.
Not treated myself to one of these in ages, actual Nigerian "lager" saw it while getting the groceries and thought yeah I and worth it.

MrsB was wanting more chilli cheese bread and I figured not made baguettes for a while. I completely goofed up my sums and managed to double up. SO now the freezer is well stocked with chilli cheese sourdough.

They're saying the quiet part aloud now. Harking back to their infamous 1960s campaign slogan.

Had a wander about this morning no mushrooms. Still some blackberries but they are definitely coming to an end, lots of sloes, hawberries, rosehips, some crab apples and a new one to me a service tree which is rare in the UK.

After chilling in the fridge for 3 days got around to baking my sourdough loaves this morning.

Standard wholemeal X2 which is the goto standard sandwich bread and 1 chilli cheese because it is a favourite of my wife.

This one had found a quiet spot to sunbathe in our garden. Suppose it's us being away a month created security. It did seem a bit peeved when I opened the door to go out disturbing its slumber.

My brother gifted me a couple of cucumber plants around a month ago. He and his GF grow from scratch and he says normally only a couple survive to be planted out, this time ten made it so he wanted to avoid being knee deep.

Just checked and looks like our first one is about ready.

That's just sitting in the garden chilling with a beer. Mind there were ½ a dozen Starlings on the fence given me evils. I think they won't come down for a meander while I am sat out.

Another wander around the local park. Didn't bother with the Hogweed this time, did notice loads of this. Hemlock if any one fancies becoming a latter day Lucrezia Borgia 😂

Cooking up the foraged hogweed, one of the better and easier to identify of the Apiaceae family.

Popped up to town as Mrs B had a craving for Roti Canai. Have to say that Roti King turned out to be the best found here so far.
Nothing like the RM1 I've paid in Penang though 😬

Been a while since I made chilli cheese bread, had some chillies been in the freezer for a bit so knocked up some sourdough chilli cheese rolls. Should do these more often.

Yesterday contractors finished early so to a meander around the local green space. Not the mixed woodland where we used to live but some interesting finds.
Loads of blackthorn in flower, some hogweed that came home for dinner and lots of hemlock which did not.

Mrs B dragged me to the store yesterday but at least I could restock on coffee. Currently rebooting my brain with caffeine while the sun melts the frost on the grass. Looks like another nice day.
March 6, 2025 at 7:57 AM
Still settling into our new gaff, it was that chilly this morning it seemed like a good plan to check the fire in the living room actually worked, sure Mrs B will appreciate when she stirs from her slumber.

It seems that my pear wine is in the process of making its escape.

Bit of a muddy & cold wander around my normal route. Dragged the proper camera out since it was dry, David Bailey need have no fears.

Sunday was a definite stay there heck indoors day. Blowing a hooley, so dug out my starter that's been chilling in the fridge.

That's sorted for the next week+

Managed to get my breakfast cooking, my water heating and the dryer running all in the 2 hour 'free' window this morning, small wins.

Saw these two playing out foraging as I took my walk earlier. Must take a proper camera, the mobile is so limited.
