His own party mostly supported Nixon right up to the end. A majority of the Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee voted against the articles of impeachment. He resigned because he knew he would be impeached, but that is only because his party was a minority in Congress.

What do you define "divinity" to be? In process theology, God is infinitely good and infinitely empathetic of the human experience. If you define divinity in term of power and coercion, then, yes, process theology doesn't fit that definition. That's precisely why I like process theology.

Not an expert on process theology, but I think the answer is a qualified yes. In process theology, God is constantly offering the best possibilities for each occasion of experience. But because of free will, there is no obligation at any point for God's offer to be accepted.

I am a big fan of Hartshorne.

I discovered Whitehead a few decades ago via a book that Cobb and Griffin wrote on process theology (which is derived from Whitehead's process philosophy). I continue to be impressed with Whitehead's philosophical genius.

She was very impressive in the Creighton game.

I have no doubt that it is very radically progressive, although I am pretty sure there are other radically progressive churches to be found in North America. In any case, I do give the NJ Episcopal Diocese a lot of credit just based on the fact that John Shelby Spong was a bishop from that diocese.

Years ago, I discovered the book "Process Theology: An Introductory Exposition" by John Cobb and David Ray Griffin. That book really changed my entire perspective. It clearly and comprehensively explains process theology. Sadly, Cobb just died last month, by the way.

I didn't know that John Cobb died until I ran across your post. His book on process theology, that he co-wrote with David Ray Griffen in 1974, was what introduced me to process theology and which deeply influence my thinking about theology.

My discovery of process theology is what made it possible for me to rekindle my interest in Christianity. It is a very interesting theology but it is not generally known by a lot of people.

People who claim that religion is detrimental to society cherry pick to support their agenda. Religion inspires people to do all sorts of things, good and bad. They choose the bad but ignore that religion inspired Quaker abolitionists and suffragists, MLK, Dorothy Day, the Berrigan brothers, etc.

I don't identify as a Christian, but I'll note that many progressive scholars (eg, Borg, Crossan) know that the Bible has plenty of passages that are factually or morally wrong. It's a misunderstanding of progressive theology to suggest its goal is reinterpretation to make passages into a good ones.

Yes, that was frustrating, as she would have been 6 for 6 in 3-pointers, which is amazing. She is really coming into her own this season.

As far as I know, she is a "noted" homophobe based on one retweet that she later deleted. She is only 19, and I did stupid things when I was 19 myself. She plays in a game that has a large number of lesbians, and I want to believe that she will grow. Also, she is an awesome player.

Hannah Hidalgo is clearly the best player in women's college basketball today.

They look really good this year. I am waiting to see what happens when they play stronger teams, but so far they have really impressed me. Stuelke seems to have hit her stride, McCabe is hitting threes like there's no tomorrow, O'Grady is both scoring and assisting well, and the freshmen look good.

That's what's extra frustrating about being a quiet borderline. Your outward behavior doesn't fit the profile of classic bpd and it is had to relate to the a lot of what is described about the borderline condition.
