Again, truly I tell you, if two of you agree on earth about anything you ask, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.

The classic witch hat may have come from the hats Quaker women wore back then! Here's a picture of them.

*Amish approach. We Quakers use technology like the rest of you

Quakers actually trained the parade martials on nonviolence and deescalation. If you want to learn more about our history I recommend "To Hear and Respond: The Quakers’ Groundbreaking Push for Gay Liberation, 1946-1973: brill.com/display/titl...

Quakers have historically been at the front of the pack when it comes to religions and Queer issues. Towards a Quaker View of Sex was published in 1963 and advocated for the acceptance of queer relationships, including polyamory. Quakers were also present at Stonewall and the protest the year later

Definately NOT a Quaker. Maybe a time traveling Puritan? She definitely looks like she fills her life with self-righteous hate and loathing.

My understanding (as an American) is that they weren't pro Hitler. They bought some of the Nazi propaganda, but so did your own government at the time. They actually called for direct peaceful action near the start of the war, though they weren't listened to.

Most of the jobs where you get a title are upper or middle class, and academic titles minimize the real knowledge and learning a craftsperson gains through as many years of study and experience. We have at best a hollow performance of respect, and at worst society telling us we are lesser than.

Titles of nobility are completely unearned and undeserved. Job titles are different. Professor, Reverend, Senator can all be purly descriptive. Once they start being used as honorifics, they become problematic again, but there is a certain earned respect from the job a person does.

I am glad even 43% support the very limited message of the No Kings movement. We are all democracy advocates right now, but we failed to heed warnings and stop the catastrophe before it hurt more than a couple of people. My next YouTube upload will be a song about complacency in the face of fascism.

I don't think it is. No Kings protests are protests in favor of the core principles of the American Revolution. 43% of Americans support that. Not support Quaker values, not supporting love, kindness, and peace. Not supporting a better world. Supporting the bedrock principles of American Democracy.

We have fallen short as a witnessing body. According to an NBC poll, 43% of Americans support the No Kings protests. That's 43% supporting a protest campaign expressing displeasure with the fascist running the US Federal Government. I have seen reporting that suggests this is a heartening number.

We all should have been reaching out to our neighbors and gently educating them about civics, democracy, and history for years. We should have been bearing witness of our gospel love to everyone and countering the influences of the "god of this world" as our mission has always been to do.

That doesn't mean we were ready, but it does mean we understood the severity of the situation we now found ourselves in. What was not revealed to me is something I maybe should have realized the whole time. The vast majority of Americans DO NOT understand the extent of the crisis we're in.
