Trump isn’t especially popular. And neither is the kind of repression he’s been using in LA.

But that creates a perverse incentive: to escalate, provoke, and polarize further.

It’s clear the Trump admin thinks this is a winning issue.

It’s going to be a long and dangerous summer.
