I live a few blocks from the Brooklyn Museum and yet I go like once every 2 years... criminal. The Monet/Venice show was fine, but Seydou Keïta was the real winner IMO, plus you must always pay respect to Judy Chicago's masterpiece

Finished adding the buttons in time to do a fit test at an election night watch party. (Making button holes on a machine is so satisfying btw.) Fit successful. Mamdani also successful. Coincidence? Yesterday I fucked around with pocket sizes and ended up adding three lol. Test garment: complete

This "muslin" is my test garment to check the pattern I drew, using red thread so I can pick it out easily & adjust (which I've spent many, many hours doing). Tested a bunch of fUnKy button options I eventually rejected. My "office" is now a sewing studio so I use my laptop on an ironing board lol

Decided to spend my sabbatical becoming a trad wife. Jk just trying to perfect my very own large, shapeless button-up. Like all frugal geniuses I prefer to draft on the back of Stendig calendar sheets

Took myself to a weekday matinee (sabbatical perk) of Saturday Church last Thursday (is that legal?) and it was very touching, fun, and glam, if not kind of predictable. Theatre was tiny, nary a bad seat in the house! #heylookatthisthingiwentto

Yesterday I took my giant adorable nephew on an epic 8-hour transit journey around greater Vancouver, stopping to sample the wares of various mall food courts. He's turning 14 next week and is already taller than me. 🫶

Because I don't embrace a culture of timely posting, we saw the fabulous Jean Smart in the one-woman play Call Me Izzy on its last weekend, last weekend... pretty dark (and comedic?) story about female ambition at the hands of domestic abuse... blerg. #heylookatthisthingiwentto

Caught Maybe Happy Ending on Wed (after putting it off all spring before the Tony's when tix were still cheap and plentiful 😭). V cute and employed a cool framing effect w the sets and transitions. I also had a huge pole in front of me the entire show lol #heylookatthisthingiwentto
