Wrexham fan before it was cool.
Nothing like the leader in The Times describing a policy that will lift over 300,000 children out of poverty a "needless splurge."

The Renters' Rights Bill has been APPROVED by Parliament!

This confirms the ending of Section 21 alongside a host of new measures to improve our security and the quality of our homes.

The legislation is the result of over a decade of campaigning from the renter movement. A moment to celebrate.

The new Universal Works theme park in Bedfordshire should be exciting for locals, but private renters are rightly concerned about being turfed out of their homes & sudden rent hikes.

I spoke to the BBC about why this is another reason we need a limit on rent hikes.

Great to see @maggiechapman.bsky.social table an amend to the Scottish Housing Bill which would see renters compensated for evictions

Average move costs >£2000 & 1/2 of renters have no savings.

Relocation Relief will give renters time to find somewhere new & help turn off the tap between PRS & TA

Great to see @greenjennyjones.bsky.social table our ask for renters to be compensated if a landlord evicts under new Grounds 1 & 1A.

'Relocation Relief' will:

- Help with the cost of an unwanted move
- Give renters more time to find somewhere new
- Help turn off the tap between PRS & TA

I spoke to @theipaper.com about how high rents trap renters like me in the cycle of renting.

Shocking amendment tabled by the Tories to the Renters' Rights Bill to allow landlords with 4 or less properties to continue to use Section 21 to evict.

This would apply to more than 50% of tenants! From a party who committed to ending Section 21 in 2019.....

Just finished Close to Home by Michael Magee.

Phenomenal debut, almost Sally Rooney esque in style in its prose and introspection, but far grittier.

Shows the value of fiction written by people who dont hail from the usual places.

On this, I spoke to @soph-husk.bsky.social about how no caps on how much landlords can raise rents will lead to many using unaffordable rent hikes as Section 21 evictions in all but name
