Veterans Day is deeply personal to me, as my father, father-in-law, and husband all served proudly in the U.S. Air Force.
Today, I join all New Yorkers in honoring the courage and sacrifice of veterans here in our city and across the nation.

As Chief Chaplain, Rabbi Alvin Kass was a wise and trusted member of the NYPD, counseling officers and colleagues through times of tragedy.
His dedication to our city for nearly 60 years will never be forgotten.
My prayers are with his loved ones. May his memory be a blessing.
