it takes about 2 hours to just leave the airport from when the plane touches down, then another 90 just to get into the city. of which you woud reserve another 5 just going back to their airport (incase you get caught in traffic + clearing passport control) - leaves you with around 5 hours

The only thing is when you meet other Kenyans abroad.
You tell them your last name it’s a guess of which tribe you are.

But Tony Gilroy was like, “Screw all that. Let’s just make this good.”
I’ve got to say, Gilroy is a masterful screenwriter. His legendary work has been out there for over a decade, and now he’s just showing off—delivering a masterclass in what a great screenplay looks like.

He bases this on the fact that Amy Pascal (former Sony studio head) and David Heyman have been brought in to oversee the franchise. Heyman previously worked with Cuarón on Gravity and Harry Potter, making Cuarón, according to Belloni, the leading contender.

Anyway, I hope Paramount Global hits its Q4 earnings for 2024 because, honestly, this movie exists for that reason alone.

What did not work. Paul Mescal. Poor guy was left out to dry by a bad script. Connie Nielsen, same story—terrible writing. And the CGI… sometimes it felt like Jurassic Park in Ancient Rome.

That said. What works. Denzel Washington. He’s the star of this movie, no question. The twin emperors? They were in the same movie as Denzel, and thank God for that because the rest of the cast wasn’t even close.

This movie is brilliant, and I totally see why it’s the current front-runner for Best Picture this year.

I have never seen The Wizard of Oz and went in expecting just another Hollywood musical. I did not expect a sharp critique of systemic racism and an elite class scapegoating minorities and intellectuals so that they can preserve their power.
