Trailblazer’s Tome ITEM 12 Unique, Divination, Grimoire, Magical, Scrying Price 2,000 gp Bulk L When found, this tome is stuffed full of notes, half-drawn maps, and crudely rendered sketches of paths and rest areas. They don’t make much sense to you to start with, but over time you may come to understand their usefulness. On its cover, it’s emblazoned with a working compass. The Trailblazer’s Tome can hold 100 spells but the following spells are always present in the book, can't be removed from it, and count against the total: cozy cabin, create food, locate, phantom steed, rewinding step During your daily preparations, you can spend time focusing on the Trailblazer’s Tome and going over the mismatch of notes and maps within. Doing so allows you to summon an illusory three dimensional map any time you hold the tome open that shows terrain details out to a range of 5 miles from you including paths, hills, embankments, cliffs, cave entrances, as well as artificial structures like buildings and bridges. It does not detail the interior layouts of buildings, nor the layout of underground structures such as caves. The map can be manipulated by gesturing your hand to zoom in and out or rotate. The illusory map can continue to be summoned and dismissed until you begin your daily preparations the next day.

Examples like this to me are less indicative of differences between games like #dnd and #pathfinder2e, and more general problematic behaviours on the player side that make games trend towards homogenisation and removing any sort or meaningful depth and ludonarrative context to appease them. #ttrpg
