Visual artist, educator, writer, occasional banjo player. Rejects the word "content" when describing art, but also trying to remember that it can mean being fulfilled.
Mostly just here for the Nancy and Gus Arriola comics.

The absolute best thing about this 1966 Harmony tenor is that after a minute of playing, this amazing smell of old books and age comes emanating from the sound holes.
The vibrations must be breaking up the age locked inside, and I'm scared for the day that it gets all used up. #vintage #guitar

Current work: doing some pieces using a pair of vintage shears. This is a pencil drawing and a charcoal/ink drawing, each done on vellum then cut up and woven together.

After a number of years not drawing digitally, I have picked up an iPad Pro.
Here is a 30 minute drawing of my dog to test inking in Procreate. So far it is a very dangerous tool, as it makes you much better than you actually are. #art #digitalart #procreate #tripawd

#Portrait of Emperor Joshua Norton, started as a #classsample for historical portrait using #mixedmedia & related #collage. I like the portrait in his hair that made all the good texture.
This image is included in the Emperor Norton Trust & archive.

One of the good things about AI—when you've been an artist posting work online for 20+ years—is the upscalers. I now have the opportunity to take images that were created for low screen resolutions a lifetime ago, and give them a second chance. Here's a mix of digital drawing, ink work and collage.
