There may not have been many birds gracing the waters off the coastline of Kuta since arriving here, but a couple of hours spent seawatching this morning was rewarded with a good number of Brown Boobies, Greater Crested Terns and Lesser Frigatebirds.

It wasn't just us who were made up to see the Bali Starlings, we were also joined by three groups of students from different schools who were out on daytrips to see the national bird of Bali and to learn about their much celebrated comeback from near extinction

With brisk northwesterly winds, seawatching has been the name of the game for the past few mornings, and although generally quietish, I was rewarded with my first Little Auks including this one sat on the sea off Sandy Beaches this morning @spurnbirdobs.bsky.social
