I love when my relatives can't come over because there's not enough parking!
With the holiday season in full swing, we’re thinking about one of @4freedoms.es best columns:

“to bring back the (Hallmark) Christmas spirit and the cute Connecticut towns we all seem to love so much, we must abolish parking minimums across the state.”

Connecticut and the Impossible Christmas Village
The holidays are here, and with them, the season of Hallmark Christmas movies. Connecticut has become, in recent years, a bit of a staple in the genre, as many have […]

Exciting to see nearly 400 homes open up, 75 of which are already occupied in just two week - wow! Talk about insane housing need

I live a short walk to two (2) train stations here in New Haven.

I gladly take the train to New York City often. But it’s a good hour slower than driving.

More if I had to drive to the station from a suburb and park.
3. If you live on the East Coast between DC and Boston, "use a train" is more realistic, if still not always practical. If everyone in the Acela corridor switched to trains, the train service would probably literally explode. It's no longer designed to be anything other than a minority use choice.

speed cameras sound like a good idea until you find out they're just as racially discriminatory as old-fashioned traffic stops!

the Connecticut legislature needs to pause its emphasis on overriding local controls... personally I would like to see a state ban on gas powered leaf blowers! it's time we start thinking about the environment instead of polluting and congesting our towns!

32 feet is too tall for houses
What is most striking when you travel to/through East Norwalk is the land use stinks and the zoning really needs to be updated

Four gas stations within 1 block, a 3.5 floor height limit, can only use 60% of the frontage. Go out a few blocks and you're down to 32 foot height, 1 family housing only
